How to take UPI payments with a QR code
A UPI QR code saves your customers from typing your UPI ID, and from typing it wrong. Make one for your shop counter, your invoices or your social media bio:
- No amount works as a general "pay me" code. Put it on the counter and let customers enter the amount.
- With an amount is right for a fixed price, such as a class fee or a product. Make one code per price.
- With a note helps you match a payment to its order or invoice in your bank statement.
Before you print it
Scan the finished code with your own UPI app and check that the name and ID on the payment screen are yours. Print it at least 3 cm wide on a plain, flat surface, with a white margin around it.

What is a UPI QR code?
UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is the instant payment system used across India. A UPI QR code holds your UPI ID, and often a name, an amount and a note. When someone scans it with PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm or any UPI app, the payment screen opens already filled in.
Where do I find my UPI ID?
Open your UPI app and look in your profile or the bank account details. It looks like yourname@okaxis, 9876543210@ybl or name@oksbi.
Can I set an amount?
Yes. Add an amount to create a code for a fixed price, such as an order or an invoice. Leave it empty and the payer types their own amount.
Is it safe? Do you see my UPI ID?
The code is made in your browser and nothing is sent to us. Payments go straight from the payer to the UPI ID in the code, so check the ID carefully before you print or share it.
Does the link work on a computer?
The upi:// link only opens on a phone with a UPI app. On a computer, show or print the QR code and let people scan it from their phone.
