Paste it into Instagram on the "Add a caption" screen, and change anything that does not sound like you.

What makes a good Instagram caption?

Most good captions do three things: they open with a line that says what the post is about, they add one real detail that is true, and they tell people what to do next. Every caption this tool makes follows that order. The tool never adds facts of its own, so a caption only says what you told it.

Hashtags

Instagram's Help Center says you can use up to 5 tags on a post, and that you can add them in the caption or in the comments. Numbers are allowed in a hashtag, but spaces and special characters do not work. If you tick the box, the tool makes up to 3 hashtags from your own words, in lower case, with letters and numbers only. For a public account, Instagram says a post with hashtags shows on the matching hashtag page.

How long can an Instagram caption be?

We could not find a caption length limit on Instagram's Help Center pages, so we do not state one. Every caption this tool makes is short, and each one shows its length. Check how it looks in the app before you post.

How many hashtags can I use?

Instagram's Help Center says you can use up to 5 tags on a post, and that numbers are allowed but spaces and special characters will not work. This tool adds at most 3, made from your own words.

Do hashtags help my post get seen?

Instagram's Help Center says that if you have a public account and add hashtags to a post, the post will be visible on the matching hashtag page. It makes no promise about how many people will see it. Hashtags are optional here, and you can put them in the caption or in a comment.

Where do I paste my caption?

In the Instagram app, tap Create, choose a photo or video, tap Next, tap Next again, then tap Add a caption. Paste your caption, tap OK in the top right and tap Share. Instagram's Help Center describes captions for photos, videos and Reels.

What does "link in bio" mean in a caption?

It tells people your link is on your profile. Links written in captions are generally not clickable, so captions point to the link in your profile instead.

The caption does not sound like me. What now?

Change it. Add one true detail in the box above, or edit the words after you copy. The generator gives you a strong starting point, and only you know what makes your post different.

Is what I type saved or sent anywhere?

No. The captions are made in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to our servers or stored.
