How to use the Instagram font generator

    1. Type your text in the box. A word or a short phrase works best.
    2. Choose a style. Each row shows your text in a different look, from bold and script to gothic and small capitals.
    3. Press Copy on the one you like.
    4. Paste it into your Instagram bio, a caption, a comment or a message. In Instagram, open Edit profile to change your bio.
    5. Check it on your phone after you save. If any letter shows as a box, pick another style.

Use fancy text on a few words, not the whole bio

Styled text is made of unusual characters. Keep your job, your city and your name in plain text so people, search and screen readers can read them, and use a style for a mood word or a short line. For ideas, see our aesthetic Instagram bio ideas and Instagram bio ideas.

Keep your bio within the limit

Instagram's Help Center says a bio can be up to 150 characters, as explained in our guide to the Instagram bio character limit. Styled letters count as two in many systems, so this tool counts them as two and warns you if the text might not fit.

    Write the bio first

Our free Instagram bio generator builds bios from your own words, and How to write a bio for Instagram shows a simple formula. Style the finished bio last.

    Questions

How do I get fancy fonts for my Instagram bio?

Type your text above, pick a style, press Copy and paste it into your bio or caption. These are special characters that look like different fonts, not a setting in Instagram, so the same text can be pasted into most apps that accept text.

    Are these real fonts?

No. They are different characters from Unicode, the standard that computers use for text, such as mathematical bold or script letters. That is why you can copy and paste them anywhere, and also why some devices cannot show them.

Will they look the same on every phone?

Most modern phones and computers show them, but some older devices and apps show empty boxes or plain letters. After you save your bio, open your profile on a phone to check how it looks.

Are fancy fonts bad for accessibility?

They can be. A screen reader may read styled letters as symbols, spell out their Unicode names or skip them. Use them for one or two words, and keep important words such as your job, your city and your name in plain text.

    Will fancy text affect search?

It may. A search for a word may not match the same word written in styled characters, so keep the words you want to be found for in plain text.

How long can my Instagram bio be?

150 characters, according to Instagram's Help Center. Styled letters take two places in many systems, so this tool counts them as two to be safe. Check your bio after pasting.

Does it work for captions, comments and TikTok?

They are ordinary text characters, so you can paste them into any app that accepts text. How they look depends on the app and on the device.

Is the font generator free and private?

Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and everything happens in your browser. Nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere.
