tiktokThe short answer
For the Creator Rewards Program you need 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the last 30 days. LIVE Gifts start at 1,000 followers, and Subscriptions need 10,000 followers and 100,000 views. All of them need you to be 18 or older.

People ask “how many followers do I need to get paid on TikTok?” as if there were one number. There are several, because TikTok pays creators in different ways, and each way has its own rules. Here are the numbers for each, and what you can do while you are still below them.
The Creator Rewards Program
This is the one most people mean: TikTok pays you for your videos. To join, TikTok asks for all of these:
- 10,000 followers or more.
- 100,000 video views in the last 30 days.
- A personal account. Business accounts do not qualify.
- Age 18 or older (19 in South Korea).
- An account in good standing, with no pattern of breaking the Community Guidelines.
- Your real name and date of birth on the account.
- Living in a country where the program is open.
Your videos also need to be original and at least one minute long. Rewards are based on qualified views, which means real viewers watching from the For You feed. Duets, Stitches and videos that only change a little from someone else’s work do not count as original.
The program is not open everywhere, and the list of countries changes. Open TikTok Studio in your app to see whether it is offered where you live.
LIVE Gifts
Viewers can send gifts during a LIVE, and you earn from them. TikTok’s help page lists these requirements:
- 1,000 followers to go LIVE. TikTok says this can differ by region.
- Age 18 or older (19 in South Korea) to receive gifts.
- LIVE Gifts must be available where you live, and your account must be in good standing.
If you have fewer than 1,000 followers and still see the LIVE button, that is a regional difference. Do not count on it.
Subscriptions
With a subscription, fans pay you every month for extra content. TikTok’s Creator Academy lists:
- More than 10,000 followers.
- More than 100,000 video views in the last calendar month.
- Following TikTok’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
- Age 18 or older.
You may see websites quoting 1,000 followers for subscriptions. TikTok’s own page says 10,000, so use that.
What about the money per view?
We do not give a dollars-per-view figure here. Payouts are not part of the eligibility rules, and they vary with the video, the country and the audience. Treat any single number you read online with caution.
Earning before you reach those numbers
None of the programs above is the only way to earn from an audience. These need no follower minimum:
- Sell your own work. Services, bookings, digital products, classes and handmade goods.
- Take enquiries. Brands and customers can contact you without an agent.
- Build a list. A newsletter belongs to you and moves with you if TikTok changes.
Every one of those needs somewhere to send people, and a TikTok profile only has room for one link. A single page behind that link can hold your booking link, your shop, your newsletter, a WhatsApp button and a contact form. Here is how to add the link.
Do not buy followers
It is tempting to buy the last few thousand followers. Do not. TikTok counts authentic followers and views, and fake or inflated numbers go against its rules. A bought audience also does not watch your videos or buy anything, so it makes your numbers worse.
Check your own numbers
- Open TikTok Studio and look at your followers and your views for the last 30 days.
- Look in your settings for the program you want. If it is not offered where you live, it will not appear.
- Keep a note of the date. These thresholds change, so check TikTok’s own pages before you plan around them.
