The short answer

On Instagram, open Edit profile, tap Links, then Add external link. Instagram's Help Center says you can add up to 5 websites. On TikTok, the link field is shown to accounts with at least 1,000 followers and to verified business accounts. Because a short list of links is rarely enough, point both at a single page that holds everything.

Linkerzz makes a link-in-bio page builder and is not affiliated with Instagram, TikTok or any other app named here. Facts about other apps were checked on October 20, 2026. Apps change their menus often, so trust the app's own help page if yours looks different.

“Link in bio” means exactly what it says: the link is in the bio of your profile. Links in post captions are generally not clickable, so your profile is the main place where a link works. Here is how to add a link in bio on Instagram, how to add a link to your TikTok bio, and how to make one link do more than one job.

When a post says “link in bio”, it means that the address is in the short profile section of the account, under the name. You tap the profile, then tap the link. Creators and businesses use it to send people to a shop, a booking page, a video or a signup, because nothing else on the apps is clickable the same way. There is a longer plain-English explanation here.

  1. Open Instagram and go to your profile.
  2. Tap Edit profile.
  3. Tap Links, then Add external link.
  4. Paste your address, give it a short title if the app asks for one, and tap Done.

Instagram’s Help Center says you can add up to 5 websites to your profile, and that anyone, on or off Instagram, can see them. To add another, tap Add external link again.

  1. Go to your profile and tap Edit profile, then Links.
  2. Tap Options, then Reorder links.
  3. Press and hold a link and drag it up or down the list.
  4. Tap Done.

Instagram’s menu names change from time to time, so look for the Links or Website field if yours is different. If you want to send people to several places, keep reading: five links go quickly, and one tidy page works better than a long list.

It sits on the profile page, under the name and bio text. If you cannot find it on someone’s profile, they may not have added one.

Open Edit profile, go to the Links section, choose the link and edit or delete it. There is a full Instagram-only guide, with iPhone and Android differences, in how to add a link to your Instagram bio, and a short one on how to remove a link from your Instagram bio.

  1. Open TikTok and go to your profile.
  2. Tap Edit profile.
  3. Next to Links or Website, tap Add and paste your address.

There is a full guide to this, with the requirements, in How to add a link to your TikTok bio.

TikTok shows the link field to accounts with at least 1,000 followers and to verified business accounts, according to its help page. Below that, you may not see the option at all. The rules have changed more than once, so check the Links row in your app and TikTok’s help page for your account type.

While you wait for the option, say where to find you in your bio text, for example “Instagram: yourname”, and in your videos. If you want to link your Instagram to your TikTok, here is how.

Instagram lets you add up to five links, but most people have more to share than that: a booking link, a shop, a newsletter, a recent video, a way to message you, a price list. If you swap the link in your bio every time something changes, you will forget, and visitors will land on something out of date.

The fix is to link to one page that holds everything. You change what is on the page whenever you like, and the link in your bio never changes.

What to put on that page

Keep it short. Visitors have a few seconds and a thumb. A good page usually has:

  • One main action at the top. Book a call, shop the collection, join the list.
  • Two or three supporting links. Your best video, your latest post, a free guide.
  • A way to message you. A WhatsApp button works well for local businesses, and a contact form works for everyone else.
  • Your face or logo. People trust a page that looks like a person or a brand made it.

Pick a link-in-bio tool that you can edit in your phone browser, add your links, preview the page, and paste its address into your Instagram and TikTok profiles. With Linkerzz you can claim your link for free, choose a theme made for your kind of work, and publish in a few minutes.

Check that it works

Open your own profile on a phone you are not logged in on, tap the link, and make sure the page loads quickly and the main button does what you expect. Then look at your page’s analytics after a few days to see which links people actually tap, and move those higher. Here is what Instagram can and cannot show you about link clicks.

Frequently asked questions

What does link in bio mean?

It means the link is in the bio, the short profile text on your Instagram or TikTok account. Links in posts and captions are generally not clickable, so people tap the one in your profile.

How many links can I add to my Instagram bio?

Instagram's Help Center says you can add up to 5 websites to your Instagram profile, and that anyone, on or off Instagram, can see them. Open Edit profile, tap Links, then tap Add external link for each one.

How do I put my Instagram links in order?

Open Edit profile, tap Links, tap Options, then tap Reorder links. Press and hold a link to drag it up or down the list, then tap Done.

Where is the link in bio on Instagram?

On the account's profile page, under the name and bio text. If you do not see one, the account may not have added a link yet.

How do I add a link to my TikTok bio without 1,000 followers?

TikTok's help page says the link field is shown to accounts with at least 1,000 followers and to verified business accounts. Below that, the field may not appear, so check the Links row in your app. Until it does, mention your handle in your bio text.

How do I remove or change the link in my Instagram bio?

Open Edit profile, open the Links section, choose the link and edit or delete it. Menu names change between versions of the app.

Can I use the same link on both apps?

Yes. One address in both profiles is the point, and it keeps everything in one place.

Do I need to update the link when I change my page?

No. The address in your Instagram and TikTok bios stays the same when you change your page. Only what is behind that address changes, so you never have to edit your profiles.
