The short answer

Your Instagram profile link is instagram.com/ followed by your username. In the iPhone or Android app, open your profile, tap Share profile and then Copy link. If you do not see that, type your username into our free profile link generator and copy the link it builds.

Linkerzz makes a link-in-bio page builder and is not affiliated with Instagram, TikTok or any other app named here. Facts about other apps were checked on October 20, 2026. Apps change their menus often, so trust the app's own help page if yours looks different.

When someone says “send me your Instagram”, they want a link they can tap. Not a screenshot, and not “just search for me”. Your Instagram profile link is the address that opens your profile for anyone, on any phone or computer.

This guide shows three ways to find it, how to turn it into a QR code, and where to put it. If you only want the link, our free profile link generator builds it from your username in a few seconds.

The short version

Your profile link is instagram.com/ followed by your username. If your username is jane.smith, your link is instagram.com/jane.smith. Instagram’s own account shows how it works: it opens at instagram.com/instagram.

Way 1: copy it in the Instagram app

On the iPhone and Android apps, Instagram’s Help Center gives these steps:

  1. Tap your profile picture in the bottom right to open your profile.
  2. Tap Share profile.
  3. Below your profile card, tap Copy link.

That same screen has other buttons. Share sends your card through another app on your phone, Download saves it as a profile card video or a QR code, and Add to story puts it in your Story.

One thing to know: Instagram’s Help Center says profile cards are only on the iPhone and Android apps, and that the feature “currently isn’t available to everyone”. If you do not see these options, use way 2. It always works.

Way 2: build it from your username

You do not need the app to get your link. Write your username after instagram.com/ and you are done.

To check your username, open Edit profile and look at the Username field. It is the name people use to find and tag you, without the @ sign.

Then put the two parts together:

  • Username: jane.smith
  • Profile link: https://www.instagram.com/jane.smith/

Our Instagram profile link generator does this for you. Type your username, or paste a link, and it gives you the clean link, a button to test it and a QR code. It also cleans links people send you: it keeps the profile name and drops any extra text after a question mark.

Way 3: take it from a computer

If you are on a computer, open instagram.com in your browser, log in and go to your profile. The address in the address bar is your profile link. Select it and copy it.

Make a QR code for your profile

A QR code lets someone scan your profile from a business card, a shop window or a flyer.

You have two options. Instagram’s profile card includes its own QR code, and the Download button on the Share profile screen can save it. Instagram’s Help Center notes that people can scan it to find your profile, and that you cannot log in to Instagram with a QR code.

Or you can make your own from your profile link. The generator above gives you a PNG for print and an SVG for any size, and our QR code generator lets you pick the colour. Test every code with a phone before you print it. For sizes and placement, see QR codes for yard signs, flyers and business cards.

Common mistakes

  • Sharing a post link instead of your profile link. A link to a post, a reel or a Story opens that one item, not your account. Your profile link has only your username after instagram.com/.
  • Leaving extra text on a link. If a link you were sent ends with a question mark and more characters, delete everything from the question mark onwards. What is left is the address.
  • Typing the @ sign into the address. The @ is part of how a name is written in text, not part of the web address.
  • Forgetting about a username change. The link contains your username. If you change it, replace the old link everywhere you used it.
  • In your email signature and on your website.
  • In the bios of your other accounts, such as your TikTok profile.
  • On a business card or flyer, as a QR code.
  • In a message, when someone asks where to find you.

Your profile link has one job: to send people to Instagram. If you want people to book you, message you on WhatsApp, buy something or fill in a form, they need somewhere to go after that.

The usual answer is a link in bio page: one address that holds all of those. We explain the idea in What does link in bio mean? and the steps in How to add a link in bio on Instagram and TikTok.

Linkerzz is free to start. Your page can hold your Instagram, a WhatsApp button, a booking card and a contact form, and the link to it is the one you put in your bio.

Frequently asked questions

What is my Instagram profile link?

It is instagram.com/ followed by your username. For example, Instagram's own account is at instagram.com/instagram.

How do I copy my Instagram profile link on my phone?

In the iPhone or Android app, tap your profile picture in the bottom right, tap Share profile, then tap Copy link. Instagram says profile cards are not available to everyone yet, so if you do not see Share profile with Copy link, build the link from your username instead.

How do I find my Instagram profile link on a computer?

Go to instagram.com in a browser, log in, open your profile and copy the address from the address bar. It looks like instagram.com/yourusername.

Is there a QR code for my Instagram profile?

Yes. Instagram's profile card includes a QR code that people can scan to reach your profile, and you can download it from the Share profile screen on the iPhone and Android apps. You can also make your own QR code from your profile link with a free tool.

What happens to my link if I change my username?

The link contains your username, so it changes with it. Update the links you saved or printed, and make a new QR code.
