The short answer

Put your UPI ID in a UPI block on your link in bio page. A customer in India taps Pay, their UPI app opens with your name, amount and note filled in, and the money goes straight from them to you. Linkerzz never touches the money and charges nothing for it.

Linkerzz makes a link-in-bio page builder and is not affiliated with Instagram, TikTok or any other app named here.

If you sell through Instagram in India, you probably already take payments by UPI: a customer messages you, you send your UPI ID or a screenshot of a QR code, and they pay. It works, but it is slow, and typing a UPI ID by hand is how mistakes happen.

You can put a payment button on your link in bio page instead. A customer taps it and their UPI app opens with your name, the amount and a note already filled in. This guide shows how.

How it works

UPI is the instant payment system used across India. A UPI payment link, written as upi://pay with a few details, opens the customer’s UPI app (PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm or any other) on a payment screen with those details filled in. A QR code can carry the same details, so it can be scanned instead.

On Linkerzz you add a UPI block to your page and fill in four things:

  • Your UPI ID. It looks like name@bank. You can find it in the profile section of your UPI app.
  • The name to show. Your name or your shop’s name, so customers recognise who they are paying.
  • An amount (optional). Add one for a fixed price, or leave it empty so the customer types their own.
  • A note (optional). Something like “Order 12” or “Booking fee” that appears in the payment.

Linkerzz builds the payment link itself from those details, and shows a QR code next to it. The money goes directly from your customer to your UPI ID. We never touch it, so there is no fee from us and nothing to set up with a payment gateway.

When this works well

  • Small orders and bookings. Cakes, crafts, clothes, tuition fees, class bookings, deposits.
  • Services you quote one by one. Leave the amount empty so each customer pays what you agreed.
  • Fixed-price offers. A set amount for a product, a consultation or a workshop seat.

When it does not

UPI links do not create orders, track stock or send invoices. If you need a full checkout with a cart, receipts and shipping, use a shop tool and link to it from your page. A UPI block is best for simple, direct payments where you already know what the customer is buying.

Because Linkerzz does not track payments, match each one to an order using the note and your bank or UPI app history.

Who sees the button

UPI is an Indian payment system, so the UPI block is shown only to visitors in India. A visitor from anywhere else will not see it on your page. You still see it in your editor and preview, so you can check how it looks. If you also sell to customers abroad, add a separate link to your international payment option.

Set it up in five minutes

  1. Create a free account, or open your existing page.
  2. Add a UPI block and enter your UPI ID, your name, an optional amount and a note.
  3. Check the details carefully. Payments go to exactly the ID you enter.
  4. Publish, then open your page on your own phone and tap the button to test it. Pay a small amount to yourself or a friend to confirm it arrives.
  5. Paste your page address into your Instagram bio.

The UPI block is free. On the free plan your page can hold up to 7 blocks, and Pro allows more.

You do not need a page for that. Our free UPI QR code generator makes a payment link and a QR code from your UPI ID, with an optional amount and note. It runs in your browser and sends nothing to us. Print the code for your shop counter or add it to a flyer.

Stay safe

  • Double-check your UPI ID before you share or print anything. A single wrong character sends the money somewhere else.
  • Never share your UPI PIN with anyone. A payment link only needs your UPI ID, never your PIN.
  • Keep your own record of what each customer bought and paid.

If you also want customers to message you, add a WhatsApp button to the same page. Our WhatsApp link guide shows how.

Frequently asked questions

How do I accept UPI payments from Instagram?

Add a UPI block to your Linkerzz page with your UPI ID, your name, an optional amount and a note. Customers tap it on their phone and their UPI app opens ready to pay.

Does Linkerzz take a fee on payments?

No. Payments go straight from the customer to your UPI ID. Linkerzz never holds or handles the money.

Will the Pay button work for people outside India?

The UPI block is shown only to visitors in India, because UPI is an Indian payment system. You still see it in your editor and preview.

Will it work on a computer?

A upi:// link opens on a phone with a UPI app. On a computer, show the QR code and let the customer scan it with their phone.

Can I set a fixed amount?

Yes. Add an amount for something like an order or a booking fee, or leave it empty so the customer enters their own.

Do I get a receipt or order record?

Your UPI app and bank record each payment as usual. Linkerzz does not track payments, so match them to orders using the note and your bank statement.
