The short answer

A restaurant's page should answer four questions at a glance: what is on the menu, how to order or reserve, when you are open and where you are. Put the menu and the main action first, keep hours in plain text, and link to a map. Update it in a minute when the specials change.

Linkerzz makes a link-in-bio page builder and is not affiliated with Instagram, TikTok or any other app named here.

Most people who look up a restaurant on their phone are about to decide where to eat. They tap your profile, tap your link, and want four things quickly: what is on the menu, how to order or reserve, when you are open and where you are. If they have to hunt, they will pick the place that made it easy.

This guide shows how to build a page that answers all four. We use Linkerzz, which has a template for restaurants and cafés, but the ideas work on any tool.

The short version

Menu first. Then one main action: reserve or order. Then hours and a map. Add a couple of photos of your best dishes and keep the rest out of the way.

1. Put the menu where it can be found

The menu is the thing most visitors came for, so make it the first or second button on the page. Link to wherever it already lives: a page on your website, an online menu service or a PDF.

A few habits make this work better on a phone:

  • Keep the menu file light. A heavy PDF is slow to open on mobile data. Compress it before you upload it.
  • Name the button after what is inside. “Today’s menu” or “Dinner menu” is clearer than “Menu”.
  • Update it when it changes. An outdated menu costs you trust. Because you edit the link yourself, swapping to the new file takes a minute.

2. Make one main action obvious

Decide what you want most visitors to do. For a sit-down restaurant it is probably a reservation; for a café or takeaway it may be ordering.

  • Reserve a table. Link to your booking page, or add a Calendly or Cal.com card if you take bookings by appointment. Both load only when tapped.
  • Order delivery or pickup. Link to your ordering page or the delivery app where you are listed.
  • Chat on WhatsApp. A button that opens a chat with a first message already written, such as “Hi, I would like to book a table for 4 on Saturday”. It suits small places that take bookings by message. The free WhatsApp link generator builds the link.
  • Send a message. A contact form lets guests ask about events or large groups. Messages arrive in your Linkerzz inbox, and on Pro you also get an email for each one.

Offer the one or two your guests already use, not all of them.

3. Show your hours and where you are

Add a text block with your opening hours in plain words: “Open daily 8 to 6. Kitchen closes at 5.” Plain text is easy to read, easy to edit for holidays and easy for search engines and assistants to understand.

Add a link that opens your location on a map. People nearby often want directions more than anything else.

4. Show the food

A good photo of your best dish does more than a paragraph. Use a picture tile or a small gallery of up to six pictures, and make the photos your own. Linkerzz resizes pictures when you upload them so the page stays quick; the free plan allows 8 pictures across your picture and gallery blocks.

5. Put a QR code on your tables and bags

The same page address works as a QR code. Print it on table cards, in the window and on takeaway bags, so anyone in or near the restaurant can open your menu, reserve or order. Our free QR code generator makes a PNG or SVG in your browser, and this guide covers size and placement. Test the printed code with a phone before you print a hundred copies.

If you take payments in India, you can add a UPI payment block to the same page. See how to take UPI payments from your Instagram bio.

What to leave off

  • Every social network. Your Instagram is where they came from. Add a row of icons at the bottom if you like.
  • A long story. A line about who you are is enough.
  • Prices that change daily. Link to the menu rather than copying prices into the page, so you update one place.

Set it up in ten minutes

  1. Create a free account and choose the restaurants and cafés starter.
  2. Replace the example links, your photo and anything marked as an example with your own. The editor lists everything that still needs changing, and you cannot publish until the placeholders are gone.
  3. Add your menu, your reserve or order button, your hours and a map link.
  4. Publish, paste the address into your Instagram bio and print the QR code.

The free plan gives you one page of up to 7 blocks and every theme. Pro adds more blocks, several pages (for example a second location) and your own address. See the pricing page for the full list.

Frequently asked questions

What should a restaurant put in a link in bio?

A link to the menu, a way to reserve a table or order, your opening hours, and a map link or address. Add a picture or two of your best dishes.

How do I link to my menu?

Link to a menu page on your own site, or to a PDF or an online menu. A link block opens it in one tap. Keep the file small so it loads quickly on a phone.

Can customers message me on WhatsApp?

Yes. A WhatsApp button opens a chat with a first message already written, such as asking to reserve a table. You can build the link with our free WhatsApp link generator.

How do I show opening hours?

Add a text block with your hours. Because the page is yours to edit, you can change them for holidays in a minute and publish.

Can I show a QR code for my page in the restaurant?

Yes. Put your page address in a QR code and print it for tables, the window or takeaway bags. Our free QR code generator runs in your browser.
