The short answer

You can make a link in bio for free in a few minutes. Free plans differ a lot: Linktree gives unlimited basic links, Beacons includes selling with a 9% fee, Linkerzz gives 7 blocks with every theme, and Liinks has no free plan. Check the limits, the branding and the ads before you pick.

Linkerzz makes a link-in-bio page builder and is not affiliated with Instagram, TikTok or any other app named here. Facts about other apps were checked on October 12, 2026. Apps change their menus often, so trust the app's own help page if yours looks different.

You do not need to pay to put a link in your Instagram or TikTok bio. Several tools will let you build a page for free. The catch is that “free” means very different things, so it is worth knowing what you get before you pick one. This guide shows how to make a free link in bio, and what each free plan includes.

  1. Pick a free link in bio tool. See the comparison below.
  2. Create an account and choose your page name. It becomes part of your address.
  3. Add your links. Put the one you most want people to tap first.
  4. Choose a theme and add your photo or logo. Check how it looks on your phone.
  5. Copy the address and paste it into your profile. Here is how to do it on Instagram and TikTok.

With Linkerzz you can claim your free link and publish in a few minutes.

What each free plan is like

Linktree Free

Unlimited basic links, and email and phone sign-ups, with one featured link. Removing Linktree’s branding needs a Pro plan. Linktree also says it is running a limited test of short ads on some Free Linktrees in eligible countries. They appear after a visitor taps an external link, and Linktree says they never appear on paid plans.

Beacons Free

A customisable link in bio, a media kit that updates daily, selling digital products with a 9% seller fee, affiliate links, 50 email sends a month and daily AI credits. It is the free plan with the most business tools. Removing Beacons branding needs Creator Plus.

Linkerzz Free

Up to 7 blocks, every theme, one embed such as a video or a music player, and eight pictures. It includes analytics: your totals, a daily chart of views and clicks, and your three most-tapped links. There is a small Linkerzz badge at the bottom, and a contact form that stores up to 50 messages in your inbox. We do not use cookies or ad trackers on your page. It does not host products or send marketing email.

Liinks

Liinks has no free plan. Its pricing page explains that it prefers not to depend on ads or data. You can build your page for free and take as long as you like, and then start a 14-day free trial when you want to go live. Plans start at $5 a month.

The catches to look for in a free plan

  • A limit on links or blocks. Linkerzz caps the free plan at 7 blocks. Linktree’s free plan has unlimited basic links. Count what you need.
  • Branding. Most free plans show the tool’s name or logo on your page. Check how visible it is.
  • Ads. Linktree is testing them on some free pages. Ask whether visitors will see something that is not yours.
  • Fees. Beacons lets you sell on its free plan, but it keeps 9%.
  • Your own domain. None of these free plans include one.
  • Locked analytics. Some tools hide analytics on the free plan. Check whether you can see taps per link.

What free cannot do

A free link in bio is enough to start. You will probably want to pay if you need:

  • More links or blocks than the free limit.
  • Your own address, such as links.yourname.com.
  • No branding on your page.
  • More analytics, such as the sources of your visitors, every link ranked and a comparison with the previous period.
  • Selling with lower fees, or email marketing.

You can start free and upgrade later without changing the address you gave to Instagram and TikTok, as long as you stay with the same tool.

How to pick

  1. Count your links. If you have more than a handful, look at Linktree’s unlimited links.
  2. Decide if you will sell. If yes, look at Beacons first.
  3. Check what visitors see. Branding and ads affect how your page feels.
  4. Choose clean and fast if you are a small business with a few key links, a WhatsApp button and a contact form. That is what Linkerzz is built for.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make a link in bio for free?

Yes. Linktree, Beacons and Linkerzz have free plans, so you can build a page and put its address in your profile without paying. Liinks has no free plan, only a 14-day trial.

What is the best free link in bio tool?

It depends on what you need. Linktree has unlimited basic links, Beacons lets you sell and has a media kit, and Linkerzz has every theme and free analytics with a 7-block limit. Compare the limits and the catches before you choose.

Do free link in bio pages have ads?

Linktree says it is testing short ads on some Free Linktrees in eligible countries, and that ads never appear on paid plans. Linkerzz does not show ads on free pages.

Is a free link in bio page good enough?

For most people starting out, yes. You can swap to a paid plan later for more links, a custom domain or no branding. Your link in bio address only changes if you switch tools.

Can I use my own domain on a free plan?

Not on the free plans we compared. Beacons includes a custom domain from its Creator plan, Linkerzz and Liinks from Pro, and Linktree's help center says it does not support them, although another Linktree page lists custom domains under Pro, so check before you pay.
